Phoenix Coyotes vs Vancouver Canucks NHL Preview and Betting Tips

The late game from Vancouver has the Canucks as a slight favorite.

The Phoenix Coyotes are taking their current hot streak into Vancouver tonight to try and topple the Canucks in their home rink.  It certainly will not be easy for the Coyotes to take a win away from GM Place however the Coyotes are one of the hotter teams in the NHL at the moment, winners of 8 of their last 10.

Here are the odds with Sportsbook.com for the game and note the late starting time of 10pm ET (7pm PST):

Coyotes to win, +150 (3/2)
Canucks to win, -170 (10/17)

You can certainly see why Vancouver have come in as the solid favorite here since they are stellar at home this season (27-10 straight up).  However Phoenix have won 80% of their last 10 games while Vancouver have only won 50% of their last 10.  Also first play outright in the Western Conference is not entirely out of the picture yet, although the Coyotes would need San Jose to lose some games in order for that to happen.

It's tough to pound a bet against Vancouver here because of their home ice advantage and their proven ability to defend that home ice.  However Phoenix's recent form is also risky to bet against and you might consider them to be more like +120 underdogs in this game.  That being the case, their odds of +150 can be judged to be long and therefore valuable.

Our recommendation is to back Phoenix in this game with a mid-sized bet at +150 with Players Only.  As a sidenote the Coyotes are priced at +600 (6/1) to win the Western Conference still with Sportsbook.com, even despite the fact that they have the second most points in the conference standings.
