Detroit Red Wings Odds to Win Central Division

- 17 Dec 2009

One of the bigger surprises in the NHL so far this year has been the less than dominating performance of the Detroit Red Wings.

They aren't a bad team by any measure but since we're so used to them being at or near the top of the Western Conference, it's a little odd to see them as only an average team.

The Chicago Blackhawks currently lead the Central Division but Detroit isn't all that far back and could still turn things around.

The Red Wings have shown a little bit of life recently as they have now won three games in a row.  Their odds with Ladbrokes to win the Central Division title are +320 (16/5) while the Blackhawks are ugly at -320 (5/16).

Our recommendation is to bet against the 'hawks as they have failed to take full control of their division despite leading it practically from the start.  Take Detroit at +320 and consider taking the Nashville Predators with a smaller bet as well as they have odds of +1200 to win the Central, despite only being 2 points back of Chicago.

Go to Ladbrokes to bet on NHL hockey.
