Vancouver clinched the Western Conference championship on Tuesday night as they eliminated the San Jose Sharks in five games. With that win the Canucks are back into the championship series of the NHL playoffs for the first time since 1994 when they lost to Mark Messier's New York Rangers.Boston are also a team who have been absent from the Stanley Cup finals for quite some time as the Bruins have not played for the Stanley Cup in 21 years. Mark Messier had a hand in the result of that championship series from 1990 as well as his Edmonton Oilers won their fifth and to-date final Cup over Boston that year.Boston's spot, unlike Vancouver's, is by no means booked yet as Tampa Bay have warded off elimination already this post-season on multiple occasions. The Lightning are in a hole but they've been in worse spots as they trailed the Pittsburgh Penguins in the opening round of the playoffs 3-1 before rallying back.If Boston are to join Vancouver tonight then the Bruins need a win on the road as game six of the Eastern Conference finals will come from Florida.Tampa Bay will reportedly go back to Dwayne Roloson in game six even though Mike Smith played well in game five. Roloson has not been as effective in this current series as he has been for most of the playoffs, but perhaps the extra rest heading into game six will help sharpen the 41 year old's skills tonight.Game six starts at 8pm ET with television coverage available on Versus and CBC.
