New York Giants at Green Bay Packers Tips - Pack to set up 49ers clash

The Packers made light work of the regular season, with only defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs preventing Aaron Rodgers and Co going 16-0. However, 15-1 was easily enough to hand them the number one seeding in the NFC and they looked on last week as the Giants dumped the Atlanta Falcons out of the post-season.

New York shut out the Falcons offence last weekend and they are a dominant outfit when they have Jason Pierre-Paul, Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora on the field at the same time. The G-Men’s front four terrorised Matt Ryan and will be looking to do that to Rodgers in this one – whether that can be done remains to be seen. However, if New York are to pull off the upset they will need this to happen. Rodgers has picked apart defence after defence this season and he will do the same here if he is given time in the backfield.

What will give the Giants a huge amount of hope is Green Bay’s defence. They ranked last overall in the NFL this season and while that ranking is a little misleading, it is a unit that could get torched by the combination of Eli Manning, Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks.

Despite this Green Bay are 5/17 favourites and it would be hard not to give them the nod for this match. This high-powered offence will take some stopping and Rodgers, Greg Jennings Jordy Nelson, Jermichael Finley and the rest will be able to capitalise on a leaky New York secondary that ensured the Giants ranked just 29th against the pass. The visitors are 3/1 to pull off an upset and head to San Francisco for the NFC Championship game.

Wide receiver Jordy Nelson led the Green Bay Packers with 15 touchdowns this season and is 7/1 to get the first here. Nine-TD Jennings and eight-TD Finley are 15/2 and 7/1 respectively, while James Jones is 12/1 to get the first touchdown of the game and add to the seven he has notched this season.

Ahmad Bradshaw has racked up 11 touchdowns this season and is 8/1 to score the game’s first, while fellow running back Brandon Jacobs ran in eight times and is 11/1 in this market. Nine-TD Cruz and fellow receiver Nicks, who has seven, are both 10/1 to go in first at Lambeau.

Ladbrokes have a special money–back promotion for this match. If the Giants at the Packers goes to overtime, the firm will refund all losing bets on the touchdown scorer markets in this match. We have already seen one OT game during the playoffs, courtesy of Denver and Pittsburgh on Wild Card weekend.
It is also worth noting that bookmaker Ladbrokes are offering enhanced odds on marquee markets of live TV NFL games all season long. This covers Money Line, Point Spread, Total Points, 1st Half Point Spread and 1st Half Totals.
