Both sides are 8-7 after suffering mixed fortunes in Week 16 of the regular season. While the Giants returned to the top of the division with a  29-14 win over the New York Jets, the Cowboys slumped to a 20-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a game that saw Tony Romo suffer a hand injury.

Romo is expected to be fit for this one, and franchise owner Jerry Jones claims there is no other quarterback he would want in a clutch situation. Those comments are surprising considering Romo has never delivered on the biggest stage – the playoffs – while the Cowboys have also surrendered five fourth-quarter leads this season. Legendary running back Emmitt Smith has questioned the team's mental toughness this season, and of all games this is one in which physical toughness will not be the only trait needed.

The Giants would have had a playoff place wrapped up by now had they not slipped up against Washington in Week 15, and being at home for this one does not make it a given that Tom Coughlin’s men will be heading to the playoffs. The Giants have a 3-4 record on their home turf – 4-4 if you want to count the ‘road’ game against the Jets – but they do already own a win over Dallas this season. It was only three weeks ago that these two teams met in Arlington and it took a blocked field goal to hand New York a 37-34 victory.

The Giants are 5/8 favourites to complete the sweep over Dallas (6/4 to win), and an out-of-sorts Cowboys defence will be responsible for that happening as the likes of Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs can feast on holes and errors made by Rob Ryan's unit.

Giants running backs Bradshaw and Jacobs are 7/1 and 8/1 respectively to score the game’s first touchdown, while Cruz and fellow wide receiver Hakeem Nicks can be backed at 15/2 and 9/1 respectively. For Dallas, Felix Jones and Miles Austin are both 15/2 in the first TD market, with Dez Bryant 8/1 and Romo’s go-to-guy, Jason Witten, available at odds of 10/1.

Ladbrokes are running a special money-back promotion on this game. The firm have pledged to refund losing first TD scorer bets if the match goes into overtime. And it is also worth noting that Ladbrokes are offering enhanced odds on marquee markets of live TV NFL games all season long. This covers Money Line, Point Spread, Total Points, 1st Half Point Spread and 1st Half Totals.
