Football and tennis dominate proceedings on Thursday with exciting action from the UEFA Europa League and the ATP Toronto Masters.
The biggest game on the agenda on Thursday is not in the UEFA Europa League and is actually a pre-season friendly.
Two of Europe's legendary clubs go head-to-head in the Herbalife Football Challenge when Real Madrid face AC Milan.
Some of the world’s biggest stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Mesut Özil will grace the field when these two giants meet at Yankee Stadium in New York on Wednesday in a much anticipated encounter.
The reigning La Liga champions won 32 matches, drew four, and lost only two games all campaign, earning a record 100 points with 121 goals scored. AC Milan finished their domestic campaign as runners-up to the unbeatable Juventus, but have suffered a blow to their chances of reclaiming the Serie A title with the loss of star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and defender Thiago Silva to Paris Saint Germain.
The Europa League is currently in the third round of qualifying with a number of top teams vying to eventually reach the Group Stages. In action this Thursday are Liverpool, Inter Milan and Marco van Basten’s Heerenveen.
Liverpool have a slender lead ahead of their second leg against GC Gomel at Anfield. England international Stewart Downing hit the only goal of the game in the first leg in Belarus, but the Reds should have no real problems in scoring in front of their home fans.
Inter Milan look set to cruise into the play-off round of the Europa League following a comfortable 3-0 win in Croatia last week against Hajduk Split. Heerenveen, who are managed by Dutch legend Marco van Basten, travel to Romania on Thursday with a 4-0 first leg lead in their back pocket to take on Rapid Bucharest.
Other matches being streamed live on Thursday include Mura 05 versus Arsenal Kiev and Vitesse against Anzhi Makhachkala.
As well as the Europa League there are number of other important encounters from around the world taking place. The opening game of the day comes from the Chile Primera Division with Palestino looking to extend their unbeaten start to the campaign away at Universidad de Chile at 0030.
There is live streaming tennis from the ATP and WTA tournaments in Toronto and Montreal to look forward to on Thursday. Former world number one Novak Djokovic is in action in the early hours of Thursday morning when he goes up against Bernard Tomic at the Toronto Masters.
