Last weekend saw football punters win record breaking amounts of money from bookmakers and that means that there are likely to be more people placing wagers this weekend.

Britain’s bookmakers are anticipating a massive surge of football betting this weekend inspired by the unprecedented multi-million pound payout to football bettors last Saturday which saw many thousands of betting shop customers win four figure sums on multiple bets of £10 or less.

Coral believes football turnover could increase by over 50% compared to last Saturday fuelled by the successful punters and thousands more wanting to emulate their success.

Coral described last Saturday as the “biggest winning day for football punters ever” as nearly all the most popular teams in each of the English and Scottish divisions won their matches, including many playing away from home. Coral lost several million pounds and estimate that the betting industry as a whole lost over £20 million.

Coral Spokesman, Simon Clare, told Bettingpro:

“Last Saturday was our worst day of football betting and the biggest winning day for football punters ever

“But what’s gone is gone and the upside from so many regular punters winning sizeable sums of money on football, is that all these winners will be back again this Saturday, along with all their friends and fellow punters hoping that they too can win a life changing sum of money on football for just a small outlay”, said Clare.

“Once the dust had settled and we had paid out all the winning customers, the one heart warming aspect of the huge financial hit was that the payout was spread across so many ordinary punters who might not have changed their lives but had made enough to pay for Christmas, or buy a new car”, said Clare.

“We have been heavily promoting the stories of Coral big winners from last Saturday, none more so than the Glasgow man who staked £1 on an 18 fold and collected over £130k, and we are expecting record football turnover on Saturday as everyone has a go hoping for a repeat of last Saturday’s results”, concluded Clare.

Coral is offering a football money back special called “Penalty Payback” on all televised domestic matches this weekend. If the final goal in the game is a penalty Coral will refund losing first/last scorer bets and losing scorecast bets.

Coral is also offering up to 33% bonus on its Weekend Sections Coupon and up to 33% bonus on all scorecast bets.
