£200,000 irish Lottery Draw bet unclaimed

- 27 Dec 2009

William Hill are wondering why a customer who has won £200,000 for a £2 stake during the Christmas period has yet to claim his winnings.

The punter placed the bet on Saturday in a William Hill branch in the Preston area, selecting five different numbers in the Irish Lottery draw - all of which came up, landing him a winning wager at odds of 100,000/1 for his £2 stake money.

"Usually punters with signficant sums of money to collect are waiting impatiently at the branch for the doors to open next morning" said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, "But we haven't heard anything from this customer yet, and only hope that he hasn't forgotten that he placed the bet in the festive confusion of recent days. Staff remember that it was a male customer who placed the bet but know nothing about him, and he hasn't been in, nor has he contacted us since."
