Victor Chandler were more than delighted with the result of the 2009 Grand National referring to Mon Mome’s 100/1 success as an unbelievable result for the company.

The biggest bet struck about the winner was £50 each way at 100/1 and his victory was a feather in the cap for PR Manager Neal Wilkins who highlighted the horse’s chance in the Daily Mirror National supplement on the morning of the race. 

Wilkins commented

“We were with Mon Mome last year and kept him on our side again. Both Butler’s Cabin and Rambling Minster were monster losers but even the placed horses today did not cause too much damage. 

More pertinently our web-site, unlike some rival firms, stood up well to the demands of increased turnover from 2008 and the call centre performed magnificently all day. The turnover was certainly above expectations and if there is a credit crunch it appeared to have a day off!”
