Racing legend John McCririck is backing Quinz in the 2011 Grand National this afternoon

John McCririck is one of the Channel 4's top pundits and his knowledge of the horse racing industry and his quirky market analysis is legendary.

The 70-year-old doesn't fancy Sir Alex Ferguson's What A Friend and he claims that he expects the United boss will be nervously pacing the touchline at Craven Cottage, waiting to hear if the 14/1 shot has made it round the Aintree fences.

The one that McCririck does fancy is Richard Johnson’s Quinz, who he believes has a “really good chance”. Johnson has been runner-up to last year's winner Tony McCoy in the champion jockey stakes more times than he would care to remeber and it would be fitting if the well-respected professional could overthrow market leader Don't Push It this afternoon.

Quinz is McCririck’s choice but the tipster advised anyone making a bet:

"I like Quinz, number 19 for Richard Johnson. Bur whoever you bet remeber it's good fast ground at Aintree."

Quinz can be backed at a best price of 16/1 with Paddy Power, who are giving all Bettingpro readers who open a new account using bonus code MAXIMUMBONUS a free £20 bet on the Grand National
