Don’t Push It and Tony McCoy bidding to win the Grand National for the second year running and the horse could go off favourite

Don't Push It is the horse the bookies fear on the eve of the Grand National, according to Ladbrokes.

The Tony McCoy-ridden horse won last year's renewal at Aintree and returns to Liverpool with tens of millions of pounds set to be gambled on the popular 11 year old.

The bookies got clobbered last year and are increasingly nervous of a repeat hammering courtesy of the 12/1 second favourite..

David Williams of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro: "Tony McCoy's profile is bigger than it has ever been and punters up and down the land will be siding with the champion jockey.

"Don't Push It was one of the worst results in Grand National history for the finance teams at the big bookies but it could be even worse this time around."

The Sir Alex Ferguson-owned What A Friend is also setting alarm bells ringing for bookies as Manchester United fans prepare for a massive weekend.

"Fergie is enjoying a wonderful run of luck and if he gets the breaks at Aintree that he enjoyed at Stamford Bridge we'll be red with rage" added Williams.

Ladbrokes offer 20/1 about What A Friend winning AND Manchester United beating Fulham. It is 50/1 that Ferguson swerves Old Trafford in favour of a trip to the races.
