The American added three more birdies at the second, fifth and eighth and ensured there would be no bogey on his card by rescuing par at the ninth.Van Pelt, Jacobson and Noren all ended the day five-under, with Englishman Justin Rose joining Thongchai Jaidee (60/1 StanJames), KJ Choi (16/1 Boylesports) and David Toms (25/1 Victor Chandler) on four-under.
