USPGA - Usual Suspects or a Shock Winner?

The USPGA starts this Thursday on the world renowned South Course at Oakland Hills and over the years in the USPGA there has been a history of first time major winners picking up the trophy. It has prompted Victor Chandler to go 4/9 that it happens again this week and 13/8 that one of the former Major Winners in the field manages to add to their tally.

Tiger Woods has won the last two Championships and previous to that Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh won, but in 2003 a relative unknown Rich Beem managed to win and then a year later Shaun Micheel surprised everyone again.

“Although Tiger is absent, we suspect we’ll see a bit of business on a former Major Winner bagging the trophy.” said VC spokesman Neal Wilkins. “With former winners like Singh and Mickelson in good form the 13/8 is a tasty bet.”

USPGA to be won by a First Time Major Winner…….4/9
USPGA to be won by a previous Major Winner………13/8
