Tournament of Champions Betting – Byrd aims to retain crown

The 2012 PGA Tour gets under way on January 6 with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii.

2011 PGA Tour winners David Toms, Nick Watney, Mark Wilson and Jonathon Byrd will all be competing this year.

Last season Byrd became the first American winner of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions since Jim Furyk in 2001.

Byrd, who won last year in a playoff against Robert Garrigus, finished the 2011 season a career-best No. 27 in the final FedExCup standings.

Wilson had a fantastic 2011 with victories at the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Toms' path to the Hyundai Tournament of Champions came after wining the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial for his 13th PGA Tour victory.

This will be his ninth time at Kapalua, his best finish came in 2002 when he finished runner-up.

Watney enjoyed a career best season on the PGA Tour in 2011. Watney won twice, first at the Cadillac Championship and again at the AT&T National.

Overall, Watney carded 10 top-10 finishes and ended 2011 ninth in the FedExCup standings.
