Ryder Cup aftermath at VCBet

Anna Richardson - 22 Sep 2008

Victor Chandler report a bad trading result on the Ryder Cup, and admit that it could have been a lot, lot worse.

“USA winning was a big loser for us in the Outright book.” said VC golf compiler Richard Friend. “We laid them heavily and we had built up big liabilities after laying them at 7/5 and 11/8. The fact that we won a decent amount on the two balls in running was the only saving grace and helped limit the damage, but overall it was a bad weekend.”

The firm, like many others, were praying that the Cup ended up as a tie. “That would have been the mother of all results for us.” added Friend. “And it did look a distinct possibility at one stage near the end. That would have been a dream result all round.”
