Europe favourites to be ahead after the first day's action at Celtic Manor

Europe are 5/6 with Ladbrokes to come out on top on the first day of the Ryder Cup. USA are 6/4, while it’s 9/2 to be all square after day one. The home team are 8/13 to win overall, with USA 6/5 to retain the cup.

Colin Montgomerie’s men are 7/2 to win both Fourballs and Foursomes on Friday, and 5/1 to win every day’s play. However, with poor weather expected, the bookie is offering 2/1 that Friday’s matches will run over to Saturday. It’s also 4/1 that the weather will force the contest into a fourth day.

David Williams of Ladbrokes told Bettingpro:

“Europe’s players should have a bit more experience of the inclement playing conditions, and we’re expecting them to get off to a good start.”
