Phoenix Open Betting – Fowler eyes first PGA Tour win Visit PinnacleSports Save For Later Posted by Bettingpro Staff 2 Feb 2012 Tweet Rickie Fowler (credit: Donald Miralle/Getty Images) Related Articles See all PGA Tour news Share it Pin It Rickie Fowler will be seeking his first victory of the year when the PGA Tour heads to California for this week’s 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open.The 23-year-old American (23.080 Pinnacle Sports), who put his name into the hat early on, has one professional win to his name (Korea Open), and is yet to secure himself a PGA Tour victory.However, Fowler is adamant 2012 will be his year after a number of average years on the Tour.Fowler struggled on the final day of tournaments last season, but it is important to note that he has put himself into position to win on a number of occasions.In 60 Tour starts, Fowler has four second-place finishes and 13 top-10s, so don’t be surprised if he makes a big move in 2012, and the Phoenix Open could be the start.Two-time event winner Phil Mickelson (26.090) will return to TPC Scottsdale for the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open for his 23rd time.Mickelson has 39 career PGA Tour wins, including the 1996 and 2005 events at TPC Scottsdale.Defending champion Mark Wilson (36.130) has made a great start to 2012, much like 2011, and will be gunning for his second win of the year at the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open.So far in 2012, Wilson has won the Humana Challenge, and finished 18th in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.Also three-time PGA Tour winner and Scottsdale resident Bubba Watson (31.360) will be in the running for the win come Sunday. His local knowledge could see him hold an advantage over the fieldOther notable names competing at this year’s Phoenix Open are Webb Simpson (17.030), Sang-Moon Bae and Martin Laird (23.080).
