Paddy Power expect Lee Westwood to easily win the Thailand Open and have shelled out €100,000 to punters in winnings

Top bookie Paddy Power are today paying out €100,000 to punters who backed Lee Westwood to win the Thailand Open on the back of the Englishman’s extraordinary opening two rounds of the Asian Tour event.

Westwood who was 9/2 to win at the start of the tournament is now 11 shots clear at the half way stage following rounds of 60 and 64 and as far as Paddy Power are concerned there’s no way back for the rest of the field.

Paddy Power told Bettingpro: “Call that man butter he’s on a roll! With an 11 shot lead it would take a disaster for Lee to lose it and we just can’t see that happening given his form.”

Meanwhile Lee Westwood is as short as 6/4 to beat Ernie Els’ record 13 shot winning margin on the Asian Tour and 3/1 to shoot 30 under or lower for the tournament.
