PGA Tour Player of the Year Nominees named

The PGA Tour have announced the nominees for both the 2011 Player of the Year award and 2011 Rookie of the Year award.

Keegan Bradley has impressively been nominated in both categories after a fine year that saw him earn play-off wins at the both the HP Byron Nelson Championship and the PGA Championship.

The 25-year-old American recorded four top-10 finishes on his way to finishing 20th in the FedEx Cup and 13th on the Official Money List.

Unsurprisingly world number one Luke Donald is among the five nominees for the Player of the Year gong.

The 33-year-old Englishman has enjoyed a stellar year to reach the summit of the Official World Golf Rankings, earning wins at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals Classic, but he continues to wait for a Major title.

Donald finished third in the FedEx Cup standings but placed first on the Official Money List, adding the Arnold Palmer award to the Byron Nelson Award and Vardon Trophy.

The other nominees for the Player of the Year award are Americans Webb Simpson, Nick Watney and FedEx Cup winner Bill Haas.

Along with American starlet Bradley, the other nominees for Young Player of the Year are Greenbrier Classic winner Scott Stallings, Valero Texas Open winner Brendan Steele, Bob Hope Classic winner Jhonattan Vegas and Viking Classic winner Chris Kirk.
