Open de Andalucia Betting - Tournament Makes Return To Aloha Golf Club

This season sees the players return to the Aloha GC, where Lee Westwood and Thomas Levet won in 2007 and 2008 respectively.

Aloha Golf will host the Open de Andalucía for the third time in 2012 with a tough international field competing at one of the Costa del Sol’s most prestigious and long established venues.

The course at the Aloha Golf Club provides a stunning spectacle, while ensuring a stern test, with tight fairways that demand accurate shot making as well as green complexes, which require a strategic approach.

The last time the event took place over the par-72, tree-lined course, Levet triumphed over Oliver Fisher in a playoff to claim his fourth European Tour title.

In the years away from the Aloha Golf Club, the Andalucia Open has been played at the Real Club de Golf of Seville, where Soren Kjeldsen won in 2009 and Parador de Malaga Golf, which saw Louis Oosthuizen claim his first European Tour title in 2010 and Paul Lawrie triumph in 2011.

Last year Scotsman Paul Lawrie produced three rounds in the 60’s to edge out Sweden’s Johan Edfors by a solitary stroke. Lawrie is back to defend his title this year, albeit at a different venue.

For the sixth consecutive year, 18-time European Tour winner Miguel Angel Jimenez will be the host and organiser of the Open de Andalucia, as well as being one of the main attractions for golf fans.

Jimenez has not won on Spanish soil on the European Tour since 2003 where he claimed the Turespana Masters. Expect him to be a contender, if he can fully focus on his golf.

Interestingly though, no Spaniard has managed to win the Open de Andalucia since its inception in 2007.

Other players competing are the 2010 and 2012 Ryder Cup captains Colin Montgomerie and José Maria Olazábal, while 28-year-old Catalan, Pablo Larrazábal shoots for his third European Tour triumph.
