Dustin Johnson will play his first tournament since March when he returns to action for the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield.

Experience is key around the Muirfield Village Golf Club. The venue rarely sees winners who are making their debut.

Defending champion Steve Stricker has been one of the most consistent performers on the PGA Tour over the last three years, and hasn’t missed a cut since the PGA Championship in 2009. In five starts this season he has posted three top-10 finishes, including a win at the season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Dustin Johnson makes his long awaited return to competitive competition after being plagued by back pain for the last two months. Before his injury in March, Johnson had produced a top-10 finish in all three of his starts. 12 months ago Johnson finished fourth and will be gunning to win this year.

Tiger Woods will make his 13th appearance at the Memorial and his first since 2010. The former World Number One has a fantastic record in the Memorial Tournament winning on four occasions (1999, 2000, 2001 and 2009). In eight starts this season, Woods has two top-10 finishes, including a second place at The Honda Classic and his 72nd career PGA Tour title at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

American Hunter Mahan is having a fantastic 2012. Mahan has already recorded three top-10 finishes from seven starts, including victories at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and Shell Houston Open.

Fan favourite Rickie Fowler won his first title at the Wells Fargo Championship and has since moved to World Number 24. Since turning professional in 2009. Fowler has recorded 16 top-10 finishes, including four second-place efforts. In two appearances at the Memorial Tournament Fowler has posted top-25 finishes.

Other notable players also teeing it up for the Memorial Tournament are Australian Adam Scott, American Matt Kuchar and Jason Day.
