Tiger Woods will look to continue his recent resurgence at the Greenbrier Classic, which gets underway later today, but his chances of a second straight title could be shot down by Steve Stricker.

Woods is the only three-time winner on the PGA Tour this year following his success at Congressional last week and it is just 3/1 that he continues his semi-dominance with another triumph at The Old White TPC course.

It is hard to fault Woods at present and the strengths in his game so far this year will be well suited to the course, where putting is likely to prove the difference more so than at other venues.

Woods currently ranks 14th in the PGA Tour statistics in strokes gained through putting and the fact that he is also ranks prominently in areas including total driving and greens in regulation should also aid his prospects.

But it may be worth taking Woods on at the prices, especially with the field including US Open champion Webb Simpson, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Stricker.

Stricker (20/1) is widely renowned as one of the best putters in golf and he should be able to benefit from a high number of birdie opportunities on a course that remains fairly short, despite being lengthened.

Interestingly, Stricker has triumphed in the last three years on his first start following the US Open and the Greenbrier represents a return to the golf course after a two-week break.

At bigger prices, Jimmy Walker has finished fourth in both of the previous renewals of this event and this track record at the course is hard to ignore.

Walker is 50/1 to win the Greenbrier Classic and must certainly enter each-way calculations with the first five being paid.
