The weather will be sunny throughout, and the wind is not forecast to become an issue during the tournament.Dustin Johnson will make his first appearance of the 2012 season in the Farmers Insurance Open. Johnson underwent knee surgery in the off-season, and has targeted the Farmers Insurance Open for his comeback. The big-hitter had arthroscopic surgery on November 29th to repair cartilage damage in his right knee that had reportedly been bothering him since July. Last year Johnson was unlucky not to win the event and finished third overall at the 2011 Farmers Insurance Open.Last season saw Bubba Watson become only the second ever left-hander to win the Farmers Insurance Open after he beat Phil Mickelson by one shot. The defending champion has alternated three top 10s with forgettable finishes here. Expect Watson to be in the running come Sunday.2009 champion Nick Watney has four top ten finishes in seven appearances in the Farmers Open. Watney finished sixth last year and is in good form heading into the tournament after finishing 16th at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.Phil Mickelson could class this tournament his 'home game', as the 41-year-old has won on three occasions, and carded seven top ten finishes in 22 starts. Mickelson struggled last week at La Quinta after scoring a 74 on the opening day, but still recovered to finish 49th.Tiger Woods will miss the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open, an event which he won in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
