BetVictor have pushed out the odds on Tiger Woods winning the Chevron World Challenge after a poor third round.

Woods, looking to end a two-year winless run, is now out to 10/11 with BetVictor after losing his overnight lead following the third day in California.

An erratic one-over-par 73 from Woods saw his three-shot advantage whittled away, and his fellow American Zach Johnson moved to the front of the field with a 68. Johnson is now the second favourite on 6/4.

Johnson, Woods and KJ Choi, whose level-par 72 kept the South Korean on five under, look set to be the players battling it out for victory today when the winner will receive 1.2million US dollars (£770,000).

Gary Woodland, Hunter Mahan and Matt Kuchar stand two shots further adrift, after their respective rounds of 70, 73 and 74.

Johnson had a stroke of luck at the end of his round, holing out with his approach shot to the par-four 18th for an eagle to lift him above Woods.

After opening with rounds of 69 and 67, Woods was off his game today and had five bogeys in his round, including three sixes at par-fives, unusual for the man who had two eagles at the long holes in his second round.

Mahan was looking a credible challenger for the lead at the turn, after making three birdies to reach seven under, but he played the back nine in a disappointing four over par to drift badly.

England’s Paul Casey jumped to seventh on two under after a splendid 67, which included a run from nine to 13 in which he picked up six shots, making eagle at the long 11th after a tremendous five-iron approach from around 230 yards.

He finished off with a bogey, but Casey had cause to be satisfied. He began the week with a 79 but remarkably finds himself with an outside title chance heading into the final round.

Scotland’s Martin Laird was the only player to beat Casey’s score, as a 66 lifted him to one over par.
