Tiger Woods remains the Paddy Power favourite to win the Australian Open after he took the lead at the halfway stage.

The former long-time world number one (11/10) is aiming to end a two-year drought, and he built on a fine first-round showing with a five-under-par 67 on Friday to take a one-shot lead on nine-under.

Peter O’Malley (18/1) is second on eight-under following his round of 77, with Jason Day (7/2) alone in third after carding a four-under-par round on day two.

Bubba Watson (14/1) is six-under through 36 holes, while overnight leader Jarrod Lyle (40/1) is among a group of players on five-under. Pre-tournament Adam Scott (16/1) is four-under at the halfway point.
