The European Tour has completed its South African leg and now heads to Abu Dhabi for this week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
The 2012 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will feature its strongest ever field, as a number of past and current Major winners have committed to the event.
The three reigning Major champions Charl Schwartzel (Masters), Rory McIlroy (US Open Champion) and Darren Clarke (Open) are all in attendance.
The trio are joined by World Number One Luke Donald, defending champion Martin Kaymer and three-time Falcon trophy winner, Englishman Lee Westwood.
It is impossible to ignore Kaymer's fantastic record on this course. The German has recorded three victories and a second-place finish in his last four years.
Maybe the biggest announcement sees the 14-time Major champion, Tiger Woods make his long awaited debut in Abu Dhabi.
Woods, whose numerous achievements include 14 Major wins, 71 PGA Tour wins and the record for most consecutive number of weeks as the world’s top-ranked player arrive in Abu Dhabi for the first time in his illustrious career.
Tiger has enjoyed success in the Emirates before - he won the Dubai Desert Classics in 2006 and 2008.
Two South Africans in with a chance of victory this week are Retief Goosen and Charl Schwartzel.
Goosen finished third last year and is in fine form this season, finishing second last weekend after a playoff loss.
Schwartzel meanwhile, showed good form at last week's Volvo Champions finishing fifth. The 2011 Masters winner finished tenth here 12 months ago.
In addition to the big guns, two of Europe’s brightest young golfing talents, Matteo Manassero and Tom Lewis, are hoping their strong Abu Dhabi knowledge will serve them well.
Italian Manassero, a global golf ambassador for Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority will contest his third consecutive Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, while Lewis, the 2011 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year, scored a stunning round of 64 en route to finishing second in the 2009 Abu Dhabi Junior Golf Championship.
