The All-Ireland Gaelic Football Final, from Croke Park in Dublin, is the climax of Ireland’s most popular sporting season.
This year’s All Ireland Final could be one of the tightest in history according to WilliamHill.ie (free bet for all new user).
The bookies make Cork slight 5-6 favourites to win their first senior title since 1990, while Kerry are 10-11 to win their 19th Sam Maguire.
The last time the two age old rivals meet in the final was back in 2007 when Kerry trounced their neighbours by 3-13 to 1-9, and the rebel county will be hoping to avenge that victory.
Kerry’s talismanic figure Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper is the 13-2 favourite to score the first goal for Kerry, while Cork’s Daniel Goulding is rated a 15-2 chance by William Hill to score the first goal for the rebels.
Hills have taken some large wagers on the All Ireland with one telephone punter placing a €24,000 on Cork at odds of 5-6 to win the Sam Maguire and stands to collect €44,000 if the rebels triumph. The bookmakers have also taken a €10,000 on Kerry winning the match in 70 minutes at 11-10 with the punter standing to win €21,000 if the Kingdom come out victorious.
William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny told Bettingpro “It looks like it’s going to be a very close encounter between the two Munster rivals” He continued “At the start of the week we saw a bit of a red tide with all the money coming Cork, but the Kingdom supporters are now coming out in force and most of the money we’ve seen this weekend has been for Kerry”
