Dublin v Tyrone Tips

- 14 Aug 2008

Three quarter finals down, one to go! For me this is the toughest one to call. We have had to wait until the middle of August before we can finally take a long look at this Dublin team and judge does it have the talent and more importantly the bottle to win Sam for the first time in 13 years.

Leinster football is at a worryingly poor standard at the minute with the Dubs simply steamrolling all before them in recent years. If they continue this form on Saturday then Kerry’s three in a row bid could be in serious jeopardy.  This effectively is Dublin’s semi final as the world and its grandmother know they’ll beat Wexford if they progress.

Facing them is the seemingly injury prone Tyrone side. The Ulstermen has been in fits and starts all season but I genuinely think the closer to the third Sunday in September comes, the better they get. I still worry where the scores will come from knowing how good this Dublin defence. Sean Cavanagh is once again a massive player for Tyrone and all may depend of how the Dubs handle him.

Verdict: Tyrone to shock a packed Croker!
