Michael Schumacher backed to return to Formula 1 with a Bang

Bettingpro Staff - 10 Mar 2010

Michael Schumacher is being backed to return to F1 with a bang with Paddy Power reporting more bets on the seven time world champion winning this year’s F1 title than any other driver.

However the former favourite has drifted in the betting to 5/1 with other drivers looking more impressive in recent testing. Fernando Alonso is now the 5/2 favourite to win the world title in his first season at Ferrari.

As for the British world champions, Lewis Hamilton is the second most popular driver on the grid with punters with bookmakers also making him the second favourite at 4/1. Defending champion Jenson Button is 11/1 but just the fifth most popular driver amongst punters.

As well as Schumacher, another famous name returning to the grid this year is Senna with Bruno, the nephew of the legendary Ayrton, lining up for Hispania. Paddy Power offer 7/2 that Bruno matches his Uncle’s feat of scoring points within his first two races whilst it’s 150/1 Bruno beat’s Ayrton’s three podiums in his debut season.
