McLaren driver Hamilton says he is ready to bounce back from disappointment in Italian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton can be backed at 3/1 with Bet365 to win the F1 driver's championship

Lewis Hamilton has claimed that he accepts that he made a bad mistake in the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, but he is now ready to put the race behind him and move in battle to be crowned world champion.

Hamilton collided with Felipe Massa on the first lap in Monza, while trying to overtake the Ferrari, which caused the Brit to break the steering rod on his McLaren and retire from the race.

The result has left the Brit trailing Red Bull driver Mark Webber by 5-points in the overall standings, but Hamilton remains upbeat.

"You always kick yourself when you make a mistake” said the 25-year-old

"You kick yourself more than anyone can kick you. It's how I deal with it. If I hadn't done what I did I probably wouldn't be who I am because I do push.

"That's how I do it. I feel I am better equipped to deal with something like this than perhaps was the case a few years ago.

"It is mistakes like the one I made that can be the deciding factor in world championships.

"But it's also how you bounce back that determines and shapes a world champion. I will continue to grow and improve."
