Lewis Hamilton furious with the Monaco stewards

Lewis Hamilton couldn't contain his anger after being penalised during the Monaco Grand Prix, despite claiming that both collisions were not his fault

The McLaren driver was handed a 20-second penalty following the close of the Monaco Grand Prix, though the ruling will have no effect on the race result as Adrian Sutil was over a lap behind el rapido.

This was Hamilton's third penalty of the weekend, following a drive-through in the race and the deletion of his fastest qualification time on Saturday.

"It's an absolute frickin' joke. I've been to see the stewards five times out of six this season."

Hamilton was dismayed at the decisions made by the stewards and jokingly made an Ali-G reference about being a black driver, which of course had Fleet Street overjoyed as they prepared their headlines for Monday morning.

"I've been to the stewards to make peace. It was a bit of a joke, which wasn't funny." Hamilton said.

"The joke didn't come at the most appropriate time  -  They said they would make sure other people in the FIA understand."

Hamilton is priced at 10/1 to win the drivers' championship behind 1/10 favourite Sebastian Vettel.

Meanwhile, the fantastic crescendo towards the final few laps at Monaco ended as a complete anti-climax with the teams able to change car's tyres before the race restarted, essentially handing Vettel the win. The rules will now be addressed.
