Felipe Massa 11/2 to be fired by Ferrari after Monaco Grand Prix

Felipe Massa is in danger of the chop and William Hill offer 11/2 that next week’s Monaco Grand Prix will be his final drive for the Ferrari team.

Ferrari have increased the pressure on the Brazilian by saying they expect his form to improve immediately.

Massa has scored only two points this season while his team-mate Fernando Alonso is level on 61 with World Championship leader Sebastian Vettel.

In the Spanish Grand Prix, Massa finished 15th and was lapped by Alonso, who was second to Pastor Maldonado.

A Ferrari statement said: “Everyone is expecting a change of gear, starting right away with the Monaco Grand Prix.”

This Formula One season is proving to be one of the most exciting for many years and William Hill expect further thrills and spills in Monte Carlo, offering 4/6 that there will be a sixth different winner in six races.

Hill’s make Lewis Hamilton their 11/4 favourite to win with Vettel 5/1, but all the drivers are being backed as punters hope for another 500/1 winner after Maldonado’s success in Barcelona.

“Punters are backing all 24 drivers in the hope we will see another shock, and we have a great chance of another new winner,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
