Vettel topped the timesheets during the second session in Spain, having been second fastest in session one, behind Williams' Pastor Maldonado.

The German, two-time defending world champion, is 3.75 at bet365 to complete a hat-trick of victories at the European Grand Prix and is 3.25 to be the fastest qualifier, while he is 3.75 to win another drivers' title this season.

Vettel was pleased with his showing, but believes that there is still more to come from Red Bull.

He told Sky Sports: "The car feels good, I'm reasonably happy with the balance, but we still have some fine-tuning to do.

"We have to see what the rest of the weekend brings, the temperature was a bit cooler than what it is supposed to be tomorrow and on Sunday, but I hope we can produce the same performance for the next two days."
Second quickest in the second session was Force India's Nico Hulkenberg, whose team-mate Paul di Resta was sixth.

Kamui Kobayashi was third fastest in his Sauber, with seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher fourth in his Mercedes, while McLaren duo Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton could only manage 12th and 14th respectively.
