(credit: Richard Heathcote/Getty Images) Related Articles See all Internationals news Share it Pin It William Hill will pay out to those who placed bets on England players wearing poppies during the friendly with Spain on Saturday.FIFA have permitted the Three Lions players to wear armbands with the poppy emblem on them, having initially rejected a request from the Football Association.And following this development bookmakers William Hill, who were betting on whether they would be allowed to sport the poppy during the game or not, are paying out to those who bet that they would, (at odds of 1/6 to 1/8) and also to those who bet they wouldn't at odds of up to 9/2.Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe told Bettingpro.com: "This is a classic compromise by FIFA, allowing both sides to claim victory and deny defeat."And as a case can be made for those who bet either yes or no to be winners, we have decided to pay out to both."William Hill have also announced they will be handing over a £5,000 payment to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.Sharpe continued: "We said we'd give the Poppy appeal our winnings - but as we are paying out on both options there won't be any!
