William Hill offer odds of 5/6 that the appeal against Wayne Rooney's three-match Euro 2012 ban will be rejected when it is heard this week.

Rooney was hit with the suspension for kicking an opposing player during a qualifying match, and the ban means he will miss all of the group stage of Fabio Capello selects him.

The FA are appealing the punishment and it is 5/6 at William Hill that it is rejected, and 5/6 that it will be shortened.

Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe told Bettingpro.com: “The FA seem to be steaming in all guns blazing with their appeal and are sounding confident that they will win the day.

“Not everyone shares their confidence and we have seen little cash for a successful outcome thus far.”

Hills are confident that whatever the result of the appeal, Rooney will be included in Capello's Euro 2012 squad, offering 1/16 he is, 7/1 he misses out. And Hills are also betting on how many games he will start during the tournament, offering 4/1 that he does not start any.
