Stoke City v Bolton Wanderers tips - Trotters to be relegated at the Britannia

Stoke City can relegate Bolton Wanderers on Sunday (credit: Scott Heavey/Getty Images)
Bolton Wanderers need to beat Stoke City to have a chance of Premier League survival but they don’t look good enough to claim a win.

Bolton Wanderers were 2-0 up against West Brom last weekend but somehow conspired to draw 2-2 with the Baggies and that result has left them staring relegation in the face. Anything less than a win against Stoke City on Sunday will see them playing football in the Championship next season.

It is 9/5 at Bet Victor that the Trotters win at the Britannia but that price looks to be based entirely on the visitors need for the points and has nothing to do with their recent form.

Bolton have won just one of their last seven Premier League matches and that was against a woeful Aston Villa side. They lost 4-1 to Spurs a fortnight ago and there is very little to suggest that they are good enough to beat Stoke.

The Potters may not have anything left to play for but they won’t want to end the season with a defeat in front of their own fans. Tony Pulis is not the kind of manager who accepts slack performances from his players and they will be giving 100% on Sunday.

It is 6/4 at bet365 that Stoke beat Bolton and that is arguably a generous price although the fact that the hosts are without a win in their last five is a worry. The Potters have, however, drawn three of those games and, given that Bolton have finished level three times in the same period, that makes backing the draw at 13/5 with Boylesports the most sensible bet on Sunday.

Recommendation

Win Market – Draw (13/5, Boylesports)
