The Hatters have been drawing up a list of possible replacements for the departed Dietmar Hamann and received over 20 applications for the vacant post. Another former Stockport boss, Jim Gannon, is thought to be the favourite for the job, while Mike Newell and Martin Foyle are also in the running. When quizzed on weather he would consider taking up the reins at Edgeley Park once again, Mathias told the Stockport Express: "I've not really thought about it yet. "Obviously, there's going to be a change. I haven't thought about it but I haven't ruled it out. "There's a lot to think about like what's going on at the club behind the scenes what happened in the past. "But I'll sit down and think about it." Mathias was appointed caretaker manager at Stockport in March, but was unable to steer them clear of relegation. He was handed the job on a full-time basis following their relegation to the Blue Square Bet Premier, but was replaced by former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Hamann just six weeks later.
