This weekend's Premier League fixtures and betting tips - can Everton be stopped?

Everton and Swansea City put their 100% starts to the 2012-13 Premier League season on the line as they aim to join Chelsea at the top of the table this weekend.

With European champions Chelsea involved in the Super Cup against Atletico Madrid – they have already played and won their extra game against Reading – it’s up to Everton and Swansea to see if they can also make it three wins out of three.

Swansea have been the surprise package so far, following their opening-day 5-0 win away to QPR by despatching West Ham with a 3-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium.

Michael Laudrup’s side are at home again this weekend, to Sunderland whose last match was postponed because the Stadium of Light pitch was waterlogged.

Everton also built on the momentum of their excellent 1-0 victory over Manchester United by winning 3-1 away to Aston Villa, having been three up at half time with Marouane Fellaini again on the scoresheet. They aim to keep up the good work against West Brom at The Hawthorns.

Champions Manchester City dropped their first points of the season in a 2-2 draw at Liverpool, but will have fond memories of the last time QPR visited the Etihad Stadium when they host the Hoops again in the Saturday teatime kick-off.

That was, of course, on the final day of last season when City came from behind with two last-gasp goals for a 3-2 triumph that clinched the title from their arch-rivals Manchester United.

Talking of the Red Devils, they got their campaign to regain the crown up and running with a 3-2 win against Fulham and now make the long journey to Southampton for the Super Sunday 16:00 BST kick-off.

The other Sunday televised game is one more geared towards neutrals with Liverpool hosting Arsenal in a fixture that has provided some thrilling clashes down the years.

This time the teams come into it without a league win between them so far and if either loses, the pressure will really be on them at this early stage of the season.

The worries are already mounting at Aston Villa, who have lost two out of two under new manager Paul Lambert, and they desperately need a result away to Newcastle.

Tottenham will be hopeful of getting their first victory on the board at home to Norwich, while West Ham host Fulham in the Saturday lunchtime game and Wigan welcome Stoke City to the DW Stadium.
