Paolo Maldini linked with coaching job at Chelsea

- 13 Jun 2009

AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini could be poised to join the backroom staff at Chelsea following Carlo Ancelotti to the Premiership club.

A coaching role at Chelsea would mean the veteran Italian defender, who spent his entire 25-year career at the San Siro, would team up with coach Carlo Ancelotti, who left Milan for Chelsea.

The 40-year-old left-back, who only stopped playing for Milan at the end of the 2008-09 season, won seven Serie A titles and five Champions League trophies in his illustrious career.

Talks are understood to be ongoing between Maldini and Chelsea, although a role has not yet been specified.
