Paddy Kenny to sign for Leeds United today

Related Articles
Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny is joining Leeds United to be reunited with his former manager Neil Warnock.

The 34-year-old Halifax-born shot-stopper has previously worked under Warnock at Sheffield United, where he spent eight years, and QPR, whom he joined in 2010.

Kenny’s place at Loftus Road became under threat when manager Mark Hughes signed Robert Green on a free transfer from West Ham this summer.

Kenny tweeted on Tuesday morning: “Change of plan now, not starting pre-season tomorrow but something else is happening at 1pm. Oh I wonder what.”

Leeds are expected to secure the signing of Kenny on a three-year contract after agreeing a transfer fee with Rangers thought to be around £500,000.

The Whites are 12/1 with bookmaker BetVictor to win the 2012-13 Championship title in Warnock’s first full season in charge, 4/1 to be promoted and 7/5 to kick off with a home win over Wolves in their opening match of the season at 12.45pm on Saturday, August 18.
