Spurs winger now a doubt for England World Cup place
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that the club’s winger Aaron Lennon may not play again for the side this season.
Lennon has not played this year for Spurs, after picking up a groin injury in December, and his rehabilitation has been hampered by a series of setbacks, the latest of which has left his manager unsure of when the England star will be back in first-team contention.
Redknapp said of Lennon:
"I could not sit here and say for sure if he will play again this season,
"There is absolutely no comeback date at all."
That admission will come as a blow not only to Spurs fans, but also to England supporters, and manager Fabio Capello, as unless Lennon plays games, he will not be able to be involved for his country, in this summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
Aaron Lennon can be backed at 7/4 with Ladbrokes to not be in England’s final World Cup squad.
