Next West Brom manager betting - BetVictor push out Ralf Rangnick to 6/5

Ralf Rangnick is 6/5 to become the next West Brom manager, with reports in Germany claiming he has agreed to take the job (credit: Getty Images)
Ralf Rangnick can still be backed at 6/5 to become the next West Brom manager despite reports in Germany that he has agreed to take the job.

The former Schalke, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart coach is odds against only with BetVictor and is 1/2 in other places.

Albion have held talks with Rangnick as they continue their search to find Roy Hodgson's successor.

And the 53-year-old is reported to have agreed a deal to take the managerial reins at The Hawthorns having first met with West Brom officials when a guest for the final home Premier League game of the season just ended against Arsenal on May 13.

He nudged ahead of Birmingham boss Chris Hughton after it emerged the Blues were seeking around £2million in compensation.

Compensation is not an issue where Rangnick is concerned as he has been without a club since leaving Schalke eight months ago citing exhaustion.

BetVictor offer the best price about both Rangnick and second favourite Hughton, who has been the subject of a huge gamble for the vacant Norwich City job.

Some of the margin in the BetVictor book is eaten up by the fact they, unlike most of their competitors, have entered Kenny Dalglish’s former Liverpool assistant Steve Clarke into their list at 8/1.

Next West Brom permanent manager – best odds available:

  6/5 Ralf Rangnick (BetVictor)
  6/1 Chris Hughton (BetVictor)
  8/1 Steve Clarke (Bet365)
16/1 Michael Appleton (Coral)
25/1 Michael Laudrup (Sky Bet)
25/1 Mike Phelan (BetFred)
25/1 Gus Poyet (BetVictor)
28/1 Andre Villas-Boas (Bet365)
