Manchester United manager expected to wait one more season then call it quits

Having failed to secure the Premier League title at the weekend, there is growing speculation over when Sir Alex Ferguson will decide to step down from his position at Manchester United.

The Scot has hinted that he is about to embark on a program of squad rejuvenation over the summer, although SkyBet make it just 7/4 that Ferguson has left United before June 1st 2011.

It is 11/4 that he continues until June 2012, or 9/2 that he stays at Old Trafford beyond that date, by which time Fergie will be 70-years-old.

Sky Bet's Tim Reynolds told Bettingro:

"We’ve seen no movement in the Ferguson to retire market. It’s 7/4 for Ferguson to retire at the end of the 2010/11 campaign, which would be our worst result while his odds of ending his reign at the end of the 2011/12 season are 11/4."
