There was some respite for Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas on Friday with the news that Guus Hiddink has signed a deal to become manager of wealthy Russian Premier League club Anzhi Makhachkala.

StanJames.com spokesman Rory Jiwani says, "Hiddink was 7/4 favourite to be Chelsea's next permanent manager with rumours suggesting some of the players wanted him to return to Stamford Bridge. But he's now out of the reckoning leaving Pep Guardiola as the new 4/1 market leader.

"Jose Mourinho is 9/2 to make a sensational return to West London with Fabio Capello 5/1. Swansea manager and former Chelsea reserve boss Brendan Rodgers is next best at 10/1.

"Chelsea are 3/10 to beat Birmingham in the FA Cup, with the visitors 10/1 to spring a shock. Villas-Boas is the even money favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post and desperately needs good results against Birmingham and at Napoli on Tuesday night to avoid the sack.

"If Villas-Boas was to lose his job before the end of the season, one likely scenario is that Roberto Di Matteo could take over with a new man arriving on a permanent basis in the summer."
