Manchester United v Swansea City tips - Swans sitting ducks at Old Trafford

Manchester United will be going for as many goals as possible against Swansea City on Sunday (credit: ANDREW YATES/AFP/Getty Images)
Manchester United will be going all out for goals when they host Swansea City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville claimed after Monday night's 1-0 loss to Manchester City that Sir Alex Ferguson's "worst nightmare" is to lose a title on goal difference but that is a distinct possibility with just two matches of the Premier League season to go.

United are currently eight goals behind City and that means that Ferguson will be unleashing his full attacking arsenal on Swansea City on Sunday, in a bid to try and cut that gap as much as possible. A win, at odds of 1/5 with Boylesports, is a given but it is how many that will be the key factor for the Red Devils.

Swansea are not sitting ducks but they have very little left to play for, having already secured their Premier League status, and they are not known for their strong away performances with just four wins from 18 matches. They were beaten 4-0 by Manchester City at Eastlands on the opening day and they lost 3-0 to QPR just a fortnight ago so Manchester United will be expected to win big on Sunday.

It is 13/10 at Boylesports that United win by three or more although those backing handicaps may be better to go for broke and take the 28/5 at bet365 that the home side win by more than four goals (stakes returned if the win is exactly four). Those looking for higher can get odds of 18/1 from the same firm on a 5-0 win or 33/1 for a 6-0 win.

There will, of course, be some who will believe that the pressure of needing to win, and win big, will be too much for Manchester United and those punters can get odds of 16/1 with Bet Victor that Swansea win or 7/1 that they ruin their hosts title hopes by drawing in the Theatre of Dreams.

Recommendation

Asian Handicap (-4 Goals) - Manchester United (28/5, bet365)
