Barcelona will look to keep the pressure on the La Liga leaders, Real Madrid, when they head to Levante tonight.

Barcelona’s reign over Spanish football looked to be over when Real Madrid opened up a 10-point lead at the summit, but Jose Mourinho’s men stumbled with three draws during a five-game spell and that gave the defending champions the chance to close the gap to four points. Barca (7/4 To Win La Liga) capitalised and that has made next week’s El Clasico even bigger than it already was (Barcelona 4/5, Draw 11/4, Real Madrid 16/5 – StanJames Match Betting).

Barcelona will be desperate not to lose ground this weekend, knowing that a victory here could give them the chance to go top if they win the April 21 encounter with Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola’s men would need their rivals to slip up for that opportunity, but even if they head into that match with a four-point deficit they will still be able to cut that to just one point, piling the pressure on Real Madrid over the final couple of weeks.

Barcelona head into this match on a 10-game winning run in La Liga, and it comes as no surprise that bet365 are making them 1/6 favourites to make it 11-in-a-row by clinching all three points from this game.

Meanwhile, Levante are still in the hunt for a place in next season’s Champions League, with the fifth-placed side just two points off the top four. They will be keen to keep the pressure on fourth-placed Malaga, but that will prove to be difficult with Barcelona coming to town and they could even find themselves out of the European places altogether if results go against them this weekend.

Levante come into this match on the back of a disappointing 3-2 defeat at relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon in midweek, and they are 16/1 outsiders to bounce back from that with an upset victory over Barca. The draw is priced 11/2.

This match comes under bet365’s “Bore Draw” promotion and BetVictor’s “Don’t Hit The Bar” promotion. For bet365, place a pre-match correct score, half-time/full-time or scorecast bet and if the match finishes 0-0 all losing bets on those markets will be refunded. For BetVictor, place a five-fold or upwards on 90 minute (win/draw/win) football markets and if you have only one losing selection you will be refunded your stake as a free bet.
