Newly promoted side will find life tough against reigning champions

Kaiselslautern were promoted from the Bundesliga II last season as champions and they started well in the German top-flight, beating FC Koln 3-1 last weekend.

It is 6/1 at Bet365 that they record a home win this evening, although beating last season’s Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich will be a tall order.

Louis Van Gaal’s side are, by a long way, the best side in Germany and they look like they will simply get better this season. They are 8/15 at Coral to win tonight and even although Ivica Olic and Arjen Robben won’t be playing, the attacking talent of Franck Ribery, who is 8/1 at ExtraBet to open the scoring, Mario Gomez (11/2, Bet365) and Miroslav Klose (11/2, Bet365) should more than make up for their absence.

It is 13/10 at Bwin that the away side lead at both half-time and full-time, although with Kaiserslautern likely to defend for their lives in front of their home fans and the value bet could be that they hold out until the interval, before Bayern go on and win the match, at 16/5 with the same firm.

Recommendation

Half-Time/Full-Time – Draw/Bayern Munich (16/5, Bwin)
