Joe Connor eyes massive six-pointer Visit Blue Square Save For Later Posted by Bettingpro Staff 8 Feb 2012 Tweet Related Articles See all Blue Square Premier news Share it Pin It Stockport County midfielder Joe Connor has underlined the importance of his side's Blue Square Bet Premier clash with Newport County this weekend. Jim Gannon's men are currently just two points clear of the drop zone in 19th place and with just one win in their last five. A win against Kidderminster that followed 2-2 draws has installed a measure of confidence, however, and, Connor is hopeful his side can build on their improved form. Newport are two points worse off than the Hatters on 26 points in 21st place. Connor told Mancunian Matters: "The Newport game is a must win game. It's a massive six pointer. "I think we should win. I go into every game expecting to win and I think a few more of the lads are starting to think that. It's showing in our performance. "We should be talking about three wins on the trot - although we showed great character against Braintree and Telford to come back from 2-0 down to get a point." Following the win over Kidderminster, Connor added: "I didn't know how good they were going to be- the last team we played at that end of the league was Luton and we gave them a real game of it so I knew we could get a result."
