There weren't many England players to come away from the Graz friendly with any credit, although one particular half-time substitute certainly caught the eye.

Injury has prevented Joe Cole from featuring much for Chelsea this season, although he has recently shown twice that he's a man for the big occasion.

The winger scored the opening goal at Old Trafford to help the champions on their way to what effectively became a title-winning victory. Then there was Sunday's performance which helped turn the game on its head.

Indeed, it's not only extremely likely that Joe Cole will be going to South Africa but there's also a strong chance that he could start against the United States, playing in the hole behind Wayne Rooney as part of a 4-4-1-1 formation.

We look forward to the England squad being announced on Tuesday!
