Manchester City were given a tough Champions League opener against Napoli and will now look to continue their 100% Premier League record against Fulham

After winning all four of their Premier League games to date, Manchester City have become a permanent fixture in many people’s weekend accumulator and that will certainly be the case this weekend.

Indeed, you can imagine the groan from the bookmakers if both Manchester clubs win on Sunday, with many customers likely to double City and United in their respective matches and Roberto Mancini’s side are no bigger than 4/7 with Ladbrokes to continue their impressive start to the campaign.

The Citizens were held to a 1-1 draw against Napoli when making their Champions League bow on Wednesday, with the Italian side demonstrating that City are vulnerable on the counter-attack, although it remains to be seen as to whether Fulham can cause any real damage on Sunday.

The downside for Martin Jol’s side is that they have a Europa League clash with FC Twente on Thursday and the Dutchman does not have a big enough squad to rotate the players that much.

It is a big old ask for Fulham to produce the energetic performance required to get something from a game against opponents that have Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero, Carloz Tevez and Mario Balotelli vying for places in attack.

The Cottagers are available at 6/1 with Pinnacle to pull off a surprise win and the draw is on offer at 3/1 (William Hill), with Fulham having drawn both home games to date.

It might be all about keeping that man Aguero quiet on Sunday, with the Argentine having bagged a hat-trick against Wigan last weekend and he is a 9/2 chance with BetVictor to open the scoring in this game.

However, there is a strong chance that Carlos Tevez will start the match after being on the bench for the Napoli encounter and last season’s Premier League top scorer will be looking to get off the mark after missing a penalty against the Latics.

City’s defence should ensure that the visitors not only win this game but manage to do without conceding a goal.
